One week of training on project planning and management for OPDs in Burkina Faso
30 representatives from organisations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) of Burkina Faso attended the training on project planning and management, organised by Bridging the Gap in the framework of the activities aimed at reinforcing the capacities of OPDs and delivered by the expert Nab Léonard Davire.
The training, officially inaugurated by Boukary Savadogo, permanent Secretary of the inter-ministerial committee for the inclusion of persons with disabilities; Domenico Bruzzone, Head of AICS office for Burkina Faso and Niger; and Souleymane Ouedraogo (representative of the OPDs; was structured in five different modules:
- Definition of the main concepts of programme and project management (identification, planning, RBM and M&E)
- Steps of the RBM approach
- Logical framework
- Monitoring and evaluation
- Reporting
The activity pivoted around the importance of the inclusion of the final beneficiaries in the decision-making processes, a key pillar for the inclusion of persons with disabilities too, so to adapt the activities and the outcomes to the specific needs.
The training, judged very relevant by the participants, will be now followed by a second training on advocacy, lobbying and fundraising delivered again by Nab Léonard Dabire to the benefit of the national OPDs. The results of the activity will be then assessed by Bridging the Gap through ad-hoc follow-up.
